Placement Testing

NWC Computer Lab New or returning students interested in registering for courses are often required to complete a placement test. Advisors are available to assist students through this mandatory university enrollment process, involving the Accuplacer and ALEKS placement programs.

Accuplacer is used to provide English and WRTG course placement. This placement test is required to be taken by a certified test proctor through arrangements made either by calling Northwest Campus or emailing the Test Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The ALEKS program is used to provide appropriate Math course placement and can be taken anywhere students have internet access here: https://www.alaska.edu/aleks/

UAF Northwest Campus is also a community resource to proctor and administer other forms of examinations, certifications and tests. There is a fee for non-UAF tests and exams to be administered at Northwest Campus. Please reference the NWC Test Proctoring Services Policy.
